What type of small dog gets along with kids and large dogs?

I may be getting a small dog and i already have a chocolate labrador. Me and my brother are 13 and we live with our mum and dad. Any suggestions on small breeds.

  1. Boston Terriers are good with kids and other dogs.
  2. My silkie yorkie is best buds with my border collie/norweigen elkhound for the past 10 yrs. He loves kids, but not under the age of 2, they scare him. Fear of getting hurt by them, most little dogs are afraid of the tiny tots. My cousin stays a week each year with her big golden retriever, yorkie gets along fine with her dog too.

  4. I have a Miniature American Eskimo. They are beautiful and so so smart. He gets along great with my kids and my friends big dog too. He is about knee high and weighs about 23 pounds.

  6. maltese shih tzu not only do they get along with kids, but they are absolutely adorable!! in my experience, they get on with larger dogs but im not sure if the acounts for all maltese shih tzu's.

  8. Maltese, they go well with dogs. Not sure if they go 'well' with large dogs. They're pretty cute ;)

  10. I think I answered this question already, so my answer is still the same. I vote for the sheltie. They are the smartest breed and the easiest to train. They get along well with families and other animals.
  11. Why dont you go to a shelter and pick a small dog?
  12. cardigan welsh corgi, need lots of play, but they are wonderful dogs also: norwich terrier shih tzu yorkie
  13. I have a Jack russell poodle mix and he loves big dogs. He loves my cousins pitt bull. They walk together and play together. The worse thing he does to me is bite. He is 6 pounds and I am 11 years old. Jack-A-Poos(jack russell poodles) are very cute.
  14. yorkies are wonderful and protective though they're small in size
