  1. You could always go on the american jockey club web site and figure out how to contact them. If he is tatooed, he is bound to be registered. I'm sure theyt have his file. Here is the web site www.jockeyclub.com Happy riding!
  2. Write down the tattoo #(I am assuming it's a lip tattoo) and take pics of your horse(right side, left side, front, rear) and send it to the Jockey Club...they can give you any information that you need.
  3. Hey There, The easiest way besides the jockey club is to write down the tattoo and look it up online. It costs like 35 dollars but that will give you his registered name, etc. You can then look up his pedigree, etc. By law (and I think its still the same) the jockey club cannot give out previous owners information, etc. But you can still find out more about him. I'm not even sure if the JC would have time to do it so the above way may be better. Did you get his papers? If so you have a lot to work with. Do you know who you bought him from? Maybe they can help you figure more info about him. Also there are places online to ask about horses and just see if anyone may know him. Even the Choronicle Forum, etc. Good luck with your knew horse and thanks for getting an ex racer. They end up in bad situations so much after racing!
  4. you can take down his number, and then go online and get his info from the Jockey Club, they take the number, "age" (or what you think the age is..) sex, color, height and theres a place for extra comments, and then in a few weeks you get the info, you get his pedigree, birth date, races/starts/earnings, and the farm where he was born.. but that's it. Unless you contact the breeding farm you wont get any other information
  5. depends where you are from. Here in Australia you can try the horse council website - www.horsecouncil.org i think it is or also the Thoroughbred Breeders Australia www.tbaus.com.au Or you could take a photo and go to a racetrack and ask some trainers :-) They are always happy to help
  6. i have an ex-racer too. you can find out a lot about them on www.racingpost.com xxxxxxxx
