  2. Rescue centers
  3. rescue homes. also you will love the dog more.
  4. kennels
  5. Rescue centres are probably your best bet. Or the local vets might have advertisements up, or know of somewhere. Try the Dogs Trust, Battersea Dogs Home or local rescue centres.
  6. epupz often has cross breed dogs - and your local freeads will come up with them. Also check with your local rescue centres - they will have an abundance of crossbreeds of all ages and sizes. Also, many that are advertised as being of a particular breed, but which are not KC registered, may well actually be part crossed with something.... I've seen Lancashire Heelers advertised as that, but without papers, and on looking at photos of pups and parents you can tell that in fact there is something else in there.... however, these ones are often as expensive as a KC reg. dog, so I wouldn't touch them as the ad is misleading to start with.
  7. Firstly, never, EVER buy a dog from the internet or a local paper advert without checking it out first. There are a lot of sick people out there called puppy farmers who are just in it for the money. Phone them up by all means, but do go see the place (if they won't let you, be suspicious) and check that everything is clean and that the puppies are raised in a home environment. Go see mum (again, if they won't let you, be suspicious). If at all in doubt that these puppies are the result of a healthy mother being mated to a healthy father and that the conditions they are raised in are satisfactory, don't buy that puppy! As for cross breeds, try a rescue centre. There are thousands of lonely dogs looking for homes in the UK every day. Sometimes puppies are availible, but don't rule out taking an older dog who needs some tlc.
  8. trade-it. . . .they have lots of cross breeds and quite a few are free to good homes, go to trade-it site, look under family then click on dogs. good luck
  9. Go to your local animal refuge centre. What your talking about are a rip off.
  10. Have you checked the ads in your local pet shop? Or the local vet's waiting room often has ads. Crossbreeds don't fetch much so it's not worth while advertising in the local paper - costs more than the pup!

  12. Try www.dogpages.org.uk there are always lots of dogs needing homes on there, and there's a list of rescue centres large and small too. You will have to undergo a home check, and probably give a donation to whichever rescue to cover the cost of vaccinations, spaying/neutering etc. There are some private rehomings on dogpages so check them out too. Good luck :)
  13. local dogs home, very busy with cross-greeds,mongrels,and some pedigrees. good luck.
  14. There are lots of dogs at the dogs trust, you can see some who require homes on their website http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming/ There are also dogs homes and the RSPCA have rescue as does many smaller charities, you may have a local animal rescue. The dogs trust however help you to find the right match, a dog who they think will fit into your home environment. Finding a young puppy crossbreed can be difficult in the UK, depending on where you live, not like years ago when the homes were full of them, due to neutering programs, which is a good thing as the puppies were unwanted, however you should be able to find a young dog or even a puppy if you contact all rescue and re-homing centres, look in your yellow pages to find local animal rescue homes.
  15. I am not sure about pups, but you could try a rescue centre, i'm sure there will be some cross breeds there.!=)
  16. Why not try dogpages.org or gumtree.co.uk. Both of them are advertising sites - dogpages being more specifically for dogs but gumtree has some good ones too. Both are also area specific, which is helpful. Also try dogstrust.co.uk who will have information on litters expected if you contact your local centre - they may not have anything but you never know.
  17. try dogs homes and rescue centres there are lots of lovely dogs that need good homes
  18. I would not recommend that you bought a dog out of the newspaper at all - crossbred or purebred. A breeder that needs to advertise in this way is extremely unlikely to be worth supporting/giving your money to. If you want a crossbred dog, there's loads of all ages (including puppies) and mixes in rescue (as well as a lot of purebreds). You could put your name down on here: http://www.rykat.org/forums/index.php?showforum=52 Just keep checking regularly and see if anybody responds. Or just go to your local rescue and see what they have available. Good luck.
  19. kennels you know dogs homes or free adds
  20. Rescue centres are the best. Just remember it's not the dogs that have had the issues, it's been the previous owners.
