New Dog names?

We recently lost our long haired Border collie Ben, he was hit by a car and subsiquently had to put down yesterday (18th) and we all knew that it would probably go that way. We have decided that we will get pup's. Firstly Ben brought so much to us and we are heartbroken that it ended thus and he will never be forgotten or replaced. We are definatly getting collie's again (we have already decided on one,a long haired again and maybe a merle) but we want a unique name. It must be a quick sharp name and NOT a current human name. we want a name thats similar to old english, think welsh/anglo-saxon/celtic/Finish/alaskan and should have a meaning. e.g. Eiros (bright, celtic) Iago (god's gift, celtic) Vala (chosen, celtic) also think of words like, sword, snow, storm, warrior, night, free, brave. So Im after a name thats unique and has meaning Thanks Phoenix. oh and for those who care. Ben, http://www.opendiary.com/entryview.asp?authorcode=D761793&entry=10032&mode= firstly thank you for the kind regards, thank you for your replys. but im not after names like :- storm stallion swayer longhorn snout pointer[most collies have long noses] belshon im after names like :-ANEIRIN m Welsh Welsh name, originally spelled Neirin, which possibly means "noble". ANWEN f Welsh Means "very beautiful" in Welsh. BERWYN m Welsh Means "white head" from the Welsh elements barr "head" and wyn "white". BRAITH f & m Welsh Means "speckled" in Welsh. BRONWEN f Welsh Derived from the Welsh elements bron "breast" and gwen "white, fair, blessed". (thanks) i want the welsh/anglo-saxon/celtic/Finish/alaskan/irish etc for sword, shaddow, white beard etc Moc:irish names are fine, as long as its shortish, easy to say abd has a translation i dont mind the language

  3. Here's a great website, where you choose the category in which the name shall be in. Then choose gender, and it will give you a large list of names, and next to it, you click to see the meaning. I think every single name in the database has a certain meaning. http://www.puppy-names.com/database.asp Oh, and Ben is just adorable. I am very sorry he was put down, and I hope you feel better soon. But I know he will always be in your heart. Best of luck...
