breeding endangered animals and putting them back in the wild?

is there such thing as careers in breeding endangered wild animals and bringing them back to the wild for conservation etc.. is there any zoos that do this?

  1. The Los Angeles Zoo does this for the California condor. Enjoy.
  2. There are many Zoos/Aquariums doing this. Ex: Cinti./L.A. breeding Sumatran rhinos and sending them back to Malaysia. Please check the below links and you will find more info. http://www.aza.org/ http://www.rhinos-irf.org/srs/ Good Luck!
  3. There are some zoos that do assist in the captive breeding of animals to be reintroduced back into the wild, but for the most part I think that zoo do more education and fundraising for projects than the breeding. However, zoos close a project may do more of the breeding for the project than zoos on a different continent. I think most of the breeding careers are going to be with, or close to, a [project, program, group, sanctuary, etc] that is involved with the conservation of the species. I'm not sure of all the zoos or projects that have captive breeding & reintroduction programs. There are a lot out there.
