What small animals get along with cats and dogs?

I have 3 dogs (2 labs and a basset hound) and 4 cats I want to get a small pet to have of my own, since the dogs and cats are already attatched to people in the house. I dont want to get a fish or something slimy and gross. I want to get something cute and furry, or a reptile. What could I get that would get along with our cats and dogs (and that the cats and dogs wont try to eat) Thank You sooooo much

4. Ferrets get along well with most other animals. Most dogs and cats will not try to injure a ferret, but there are always exceptions. Use your own judgment. But, ferrets take a lot of time and care. They are a huge commitment. If you are interested in getting a ferret, I would do some research.
