Are there any types of dogs that compatible for asthmatic people?

1. any short haired dogs are better
2. that all depends if you are allergic to the dander or if you just dont want hair all over the place. Poodles, wheaten terriers, yorkies, and other of the like are low shed but no dog is 100% non allergenic. They still have skin so they still have dander.
3. CHIHUAHUA....MY COUSIN HAD ASTHMA AND MY GRANDMA HEARD ABOUT THEM BEING GOOD FOR PEOPLE WITH ASTHMA AND IT WORKED FOR HIM!
4. i have a maltipoo and asked my vet if its ok for me because i also have asthma. he said its perfect they r really good dogs and they r therepy dog too...

6. We had two Labs in a home with an 11 yr old boy that had athsma and he was fine.
7. My husband is asthmatic and had a Chihuahua as a child. His asthma is better now, and we have all kinds of animals: cats, goats, dogs, horses, ducks, chickens and rabbits.

9. There is no such thing as a hypo-allergenic dog (regardless of what the Back Yard Breeders claim) as anything with fur, hair or skin has dander, however, Portugese Water dogs, Poodles and Bishon coats are considered more hair-like than fur.

12. Lhasa Apsos, Poodles are breeds who do not really shed hair or do so very slowly, also both are full of character.Good luck.
13. Poodles are the only type I know that are non allergic and non shedding. Its the fur shedding that causes the dander that causes allergies in people. Or a short short fur dog...would be best.
