Can you tell me a list of the most aggressive types of dogs?
I was looking to buy a great guard dog after being trained, I know there are quite a few, but I really only know dobermans, german shepherds and pitbulls. Could you names some more for me?

- rotweiler pitbull doberman german shepard
- NO DOG IS AGGRESSIVE UNLESS THE OWNER MAKES HIM! I can give you a list of the best guard dogs. 1.German Shepherd. 2.Rottweiler. 3.Doberman. 4.Boxer. 5.Great Dane (Actually im not sure about this breed.) Any dog can be a guard dog,but I gave you the names of the most common dog guard breeds!
- Please tell me you're getting Shutzhund training. Giant Schnauzers do great at that, but they aren't aggressive at all.
- I have a neighboy that has a pit bull and it wouldn't be kind of dog because it attack people. Me and the neighbor are fighting with the people of that dog because it had bitten two kids and almost bit my friend that was walking in my house and scare my neighbor. I have two small kids and I wouldn't like and it wouldn;t be a good idea for that kind of dog if you have children pit bulls are for fighting more liekly but it your choice but your neighbors might but a law suit. But pit bulls you have to have a insurance on them and ot cost alot of money.. I would think you can get a german sheherds they are really good kind of dogs..
- The little dogs!I got chased down yesturday by little dogs that were no more than 10 pounds biting, and yes its the owner that makes the dogs agressive not the dogs.Just buy a bunch of little ankle biters, thats what my neighbors did and there house isnt getting messed with
- I have Bullmastiffs, they are not agressive unless taught that way but are scary enough that people run in the opposite direction! The were the Game keepers dogs in the 1800's/early 1900's, they kept poachers off the property and if one was found they pounced on them like a cat and held them down.....not mauling though, body weight is enough. They are very friendly, great with kids and have a natural guarding ability for their human family and territory. They do crave human attention so it's not a dog you should leave on a property to fend for itself...not a great outdoor dog as they can't tolerate the heat....short snout
- Cocker Spaniels and Chow Chows are the top biters according to groomers.
- Who told you pitbulls were aggressive? The media? You need to really find out about these breeds, and not just what you've "heard." There are numerous "about breed" websites where you can learn all about different breeds. Pit bulls make lousy guard dogs. They were bred for dog fighting, so they may tend to be DOG-aggressive, not people-aggressive. Just the opposite, in fact... a handler had to be able to jump into the pit and retrieve his dog from a fight without fear of getting bit himself. A pit bull that is aggressive towards humans is considered to have a huge flaw for the breed. Generally, they're so friendly, they'll only lick an intruder to death. You don't WANT an aggressive dog. A dog can be protective when he needs to be with the wrong kinds of people, but you don't want a dog that's a lawsuit waiting to happen. Pretty much any breed that is well-treated and loyal to the family will also be protective. Boxers, for instance, are very good with children and very friendly dogs, but can be great watch dogs and quite protective. German shephards are very loyal dogs, and thus, can be very protective. I hope you're asking this question because you want protection from a loyal companion and not because you want a big scary dog to chain up in the yard. Many dog OWNERS find themselves the victims of "guard dogs" when they have obtained them strictly for that purpose. If you are interested in a pit, there are many, many in need of rescue from the shelters. They are not aggressive towards people, but they do have a bad reputation, so people will naturally be scared off.
- You are greatly confused!! There is NO connection in aggressiveness and protection. Dogs that are trained in protection are carefully evaluated before being chosen. Many dogs are not chosen, and an aggressive dog is NEVER chosen for protection training. If you really want to know about dogs that ARE trained in protection here's a link to start educating yourself... http://www.alphak9.com/training/schutzhund.html
- I would also suggest a Black Russian Terrier http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Russian_Terrier
- I have a Bullmastiff and a Boxer here. Neither of them could guard their own dinners, never mind the house, but then I've trained and socialised them very well with positive methods only. Worst that would happen to a burglar would be that they'd get squished and licked to death. No breed of dog is more inherantly "aggressive" than another - it's all about the owner, socialisation and training of the dog. No guard dog should be aggressive either - what wuld be the point of a guard dog that maimed/killed? But saying that, why get a guard dog? Buy a decent alarm. ;o)
- Blue Heeler- great guard dog- also very smart, loyal.

IF you decide on this breed i do recomend reading and doing ALLOT of research on any breed, but DEFFINETLY this breed. http://www.moloss.com/breeds/c/c015/13.jpg Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog 22 - 26 inches and 50 - 103 pounds. http://www.bulldogbreeds.com/photos/steel.jpg American Staffordshire Terrier 17 - 21 inches and 35 - 65 pounds. http://www.breederretriever.com/photopost/data/643/pit_7.jpg Chow Chow 17 - 20 1/2 inches and 45 - 75 pounds. http://www.dogsindepth.com/nonsporting_dog_breeds/images/chow_chow_h03.jpg Cane corso 22 - 28 inches and 80 - 140 pounds. http://www.blueprintcanecorso.com/images/0098.gif There is a diffirence in watch dog and guard dog. Watch dog: Will bark to let you know someone is at the door, or on the property. And will walk around the house and check every door. Guard dog: Will check all windows and doors in the house, and will protect you, the property and the car from whatever it percieves as a threat. Some are one or the other and some are both. Guard or protection dog or even watch dog doesnt always mean aggressive. As the american bulldog or english mastiff or bullmastiff, dogo argentino, will NOT attack in intruder it will simply overpower them no competion to the ground and hold them there, sometimes other dogs like shepherd breeds, rottweilers, dobes, and even pit bulls will do this routine aswell. ANY dog will protect you, its an instinct to protect the pack, ( Family ). Just some are better at it then others. And some have it bred into them more then others. ex. If the choice was between a labrador retriever and a bullmastiff, obviously the bullmastiff wins hands down.... BUT.... the lab would be ok as a guard. BUT in many cases would rather bark or lick the intruder. Labrador 21 - 24 inches and 65 80 pounds, some reach 100 or a little more. http://www.europuppy.com/images/dog_breed_info/labrador_retriever.jpg Golden retriever 22 - 24 inches and 65 - 80 pounds. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/images14/GoldenRetrieverJackDSCN1908.JPG Plenty more.... Good luck and i will add more shortly.
