What are the types of dogs that have dreaded fur?

What are the dogs that have dreaded fur called? and how big do they get? Also, could you tell me some other breeds of small to medium sized dogs?

  1. The "dread lock" look is called a "corded" coat. I've never had a dog in a corded coat, but from what I've heard, it takes dedicated grooming to properly keep it.   3. there are only 3 codered breeds. the komondor, this is a large breed 80-100lbs the puli, this is a medium breed and generally stand at 16-17 inches tall at the withers (30lbs ish) and the poodle...yes the poodle CAN have a corded (dreads) coat. http://www.standardpoodlesusa.com/corded-poodle.html you can cord the coat of any size poodle, toy, minature or standard. the toy of course is the smallest. as for other small to medium breeds there are WAY too many to list and your version of "medium" might be large to someone else... the corded coat requires ALOT of upkeep

  6. That is known as a corded coat. There are several breeds that can have corded coats - Puli, Komondor and Poodles. The size the dog gets varies according to breed and variety. There are tons of medium and small sized dogs so I would suggest you visit the AKC site, www.akc.org , and look under breeds and read about them -- all of the groups have small and medium sized dogs so there is a lot of variety to choose from. The toy group has the smallest dogs, terrier group has a lot of small to medium sized dogs but there are examples in all of the groups.
