Cross Breeds

Which dogs are best for a small living space?

I live in a small home, so I'm assuming that a small dog would be best, but what do you recommend?

  1. yorkie terrrier! sooo cute, and playful =] and very tiny!
  2. yorkshire terrier or Chihuahua
  3. ACtually a lot of small breeds can require more exercise than large breeds, so don't just pick a dog based on size. Surprisingly Greyhounds are one of the dogs recommended for people in small living spaces, as they're sprinty animals so don't need a lot of space or long exercise sessions to keep them healthy.
  4. Pomeranians! They are so fluffy and unlike most small dogs, they are cute! But since you're a dude maybe not that. They're kind of girly... But if you're bold enough go for it!
  5. Little dogs that stay little like a French bulldog and no they are not aggressive they stay small no matter how old they get
  6. chihuahua, bijon freeze (they dont shed), boston terrior, any of the small terriors, miniature schnauzer...
  7. I would also recommend a small dog. The best breed in my opinion would be a King Charles Spaniel or A "Puggle". Both are extremely cute!
  8. Yorkies!!!!! Poodles,chuiwawas I KNOW I SPELLED IT RONG!!!!LOL
  9. yorkshire terrior. But my favorite dog is a goldendoodle.
  10. Chinesse Chow Chow not a chiuwawa caz they like to run aroun and around a nd you need a lot of space if you dont want anything to be knocked down.... HOPE THIS HELPED!!! Sami Shadow!!!
  11. I would have to recommend a shi-tzu They are easy to train and small and they don't shed and are Hypoallergenic
  12. chihuahua dogs arethem and ththe best to me i have 3 of their great for protection but if you dont like them get a yorkie...
  13. Well yorkies and shihtzus cost.... a lot! So I would get a corgi. They are adorable and cheap. Go to golsn.com and type in corgi. they are adorable.
  14. Although believe it or not, Great Danes make wonderful apartment/small space pets, if you want a small dog, I would suggest a smallish adult dog of mixed parentage from your local shelter. Smallish, because a large dog can easily clear off a coffee table with a couple of swipes of a tail. Adult, because puppies require so much attention and are very costly their first year – and they can be expensively destructive as they chew up your new Armanis. Adult dogs are indeed their full size (no surprises) and have had a chance to “mellow out” (minimal damage to furnishings etc.) Mixed parentage because hybrid vigor often means less susceptible to inherited ailments – nerve/temperament problems, back/joint problems, eye problems etc. that purebreds can be prone to. Local shelter – because these dogs are more likely to be temperament tested to be good with children and strangers, new surroundings, and other social situations that a permanent home may entail. They are also often spayed/neutered and up to date with their shots (be sure to ask). So hop on down to your local shelter and speak with the staff there. I’m sure they’ll happily answer your questions and probably introduce you to some likely candidates.
  15. If you don't want a small dog, you could consider a retired greyhound -- which make amazing pets. They are used to being kept in crates, so even in a small apartment feels like a palace to them.
