why does my 3 yr old pitbull dog wont open her eyes?

i noticed that my 3 year old pitbull dog couldnt open her eyes....it's watery and she has difficulty opening them. it's been like 4 days she couldn't open her eyes.... it's like being in the dark for so long and u suddenly see light. what could be wrong with her eyes?

  2. Why don't you try asking a vet. You know the QUALIFIED MEDICAL professional. Seriously if you couldn't open your eyes for that long wouldn't have you seen a vet after, oh I don'tknow, day 1?
  3. Could be some sort of sensitivity, but I gather that if it's that sudden then you're looking at something else. Take her to the vet. Eye problems can usually be fixed easily but they need to be treated promptly.
  4. it could be a cold in the eyes..my dog gets them..take her to the vet and she'll get drops
  5. Has it been like that the whole time you had her? I don't know much about pets but I suggest you take her to a vet.
  6. You need to get your dog to the vet. She probably has an infection and if you don't get it taken care of she could go blind.
  7. they could be swollen. Try dipping a cloth in warm water and gently rub her eyes for like five minutes. Results won't be immediate it may take two days. If that doesn't work see a vet.
  8. she NEEDS to be checked!!! She's squinting cuz it hurts to open her eyes. An infection, allergies, or glaucoma can cause this. Get her in to hopefully prevent permenant damage!!!

  10. Your dog hasn't been able to open its eyes for 4 days and you haven't called the vet??? Don't waste anymore time, call the vet NOW.

  12. Sounds like some sort of infection. Check for discharge or redness. Take her to the vet.
  13. More than likely she has corneal abrasions and it hurts to open them. My Pit Bull gets allergies and then rubs his eyes and actually ends up scratching his corneas. Your vet will probably stain her eyes and prescribe some eye ointment. Good Luck.

  16. sorry to say but after looking at some of your questions i think you should give your dogs to some one that can afford going to the vet but hey what do i know ive only had 7 pit bulls in my life, fostered around 70 dogs, and right now own 5 dogs, just my opinion
