Why is hitting animals not funny in America but it is everywhere else?
I see commercials all the time where animals get hurt and it's pretty darn funny. Now they aren't really hurting them so it's not cruelty to animals. It's no different than when a comic takes a hilarious fall. So why are we Americans so uptight, why is it ok showing humans getting hurt but not ok to show the illusion of punting a kitten? Animals are not defenseless, how many people have died and been injured by dog attacks alone? I seen plenty of shows where kids are getting hurt so that argument is faulty too

- Americans love their pets a little too much. That's why it's not funny
- i think it would be much funnier to chop off a dogs head. LOL and then show some Vietnamese people eating it. HAHA
- i hate pets wish people wud smack them more
- Because PETA would be all up their azzes and cause bad publicity. Then dissuade your customers from supporting your organization. Next thing you know, your little animal abuse antics has drained company funds, fu$ked up ur stocks, and you have nothing...all because the marketing firm that you hired decided that the commercial should throw that dog off a cliff! Gosh, I hate PETA.
- I am an American, and I love animals, and we can't help but feel sympathy for them because they are defenseless creatures. It's the same as punting a child. We wouldn't show harm to kids, right? Because they're defenseless. Humans can attack, humans can defend. A poor little creature can't. Plus, how can you not have sympathy for a cute little animal? Plus, even though it is an illusion, sadly, a lot of people may copy those commercials because they think it's okay. Extra Comment: I understand where you are coming from, but dogs are not going to watch the show and they are not going to be influenced by the media, thus their attacks have other reasons. That is why violence in commercials toward animals is something some people don't like, because some people are easily swayed by media. I don't know, just my opinion I guess.
