Why is it 12 year old girls seem to suddenly develop a mad-on for horses?
And why not any other animal particularly?

- Well when I was 9 I became obsessed with guinea pigs and when I was 11 I turned to dogs. I never had a huge thing with horses.
- yeah... i don't know a lot of girls at my school are crazy for horses but i never really got into it
- im 13 and have loved horses foreever...but they usually realize that a horse is friendly, and thaty can actually ride them lol....plus they are great companions and can do many things that nothing else in the world can, theyre smart, and every 12 yr old wants a friend like that ^__^
- Because in every fairy tale their are horses and they are big beautiful creatures. They usually own horse posters or model horse at a younger age and when they hit 12 they have out grown all of that and want the real thing. Then a couple of their friends get interested and it just spreads from there.
- i im not interest in horses but i guess other girls may think it would be cute and exicting to rideone when every you want... i guess
- I guess cause they're at that awkward age where they're still kids but they start to feel like a teenager... :) So they feel all trapt by their parents or something. So they like horses cause they're so 'free' dispite the fact that when they're in captivity they're less free than the adverage 12 year old girl. I don't really know. They are fun to ride on though. I used to go to horse camp at that age, but I never really got posters or anything. Never got 'into' it... I always thought hedgehogs, geckos, and dogs were more fun.
- I dont know-i have been always pony mad but some girls its kinda of a fad and will grow out of it. Prob cos there pretty and cool hahhahaha
- I went through a horse phase around second grade. I read Black Beauty about 7 times and then moved on to all the other classic horse books, drew a few horse pictures...and then got over it. Now I can't stand horses and those memories embarrass me. I blame hormones.
