Can anyone tell me its movie title?

Story goes like: I man found a puppy in snow. He took this puppy to his home and feed him. Soon it turn out to be an adult dog. One day, his owner got ill something like cancer and he admitted to hospital .. this dog didnt know what happened to his owner and he started to search his owner .. he roamed into streets and snow and couldnt find... later when this man recovered and found his dog missing. In the end this man found body of his dog in neigbhour yard. Probably its Russian movie, I saw this movie when i was 12 year old i.e in 1996
