What kind of SUV do you want (or own) and why?

I drive a big ole rectangle on wheels, yes, a van. Next vehicle can be a smaller vehicle. Have two kids, husband and soon a dog (mid size). I want an SUV that can be like my van - part truck, part car, go anywhere and do anything. This is to be the weekend, camping, beach, snow, drive in movies, road trip vehicle. Not big on the outside but big on the inside and fun!! Any suggestions?

1. I drive a Rendezvous and the better half drives a Patriot. Of vehicles available at the time of purchase seemed to offer the best roominess (esp. headroom), convenience. affordability (we saved over 1/3 the sticker on the Buick because of some promotions) and mpg. We really like both. the Buick is a 7 seat and the Jeep a 5 (only option on the jeep). Full size SUV's will offer more room, but they cost more and don't get the gas mileage.
