in snow dogs lucy told barb about her son ted.i am wondering how old both lucy and barb were at that time?

because lucy told barb she was pregnant with thunder jacks child yeah?and barb was lucys friend and boss.but they must've been very young teenagers or lucy a good couple of years older then barb.because barb only looks to be in her late 20's or early 30's at least.i know its not meant to make sense.but i like to look into things deeper.

1. Are you kidding? She told Barb after the fact, years after the fact, Barb is almost Ted's age and no where near Lucy's age. She told her the story probably because she wished she was her daughter in law.
