Do u know a bout snow dogs? can they live in hot areas ?

1. Because of their protective thick furs, it would be very cruel to force one to live in even a semi-tropical climate. Besides, they melt too easily. Forget it, OK?

3. I have a arctic wolf/ malamute/ siberian husky mix that I got when I lived in North Carolina. I had her seven years there and one year here in Maine. They do better in a cooler climate, but are fine in a hotter one. Just make sure they have plenty of water and it wouldn't hurt to have a stream or a pond nearby where the can take a dip to get cooled off.
4. I live in Canberra, and I have a siberian husky. He hates it inside when the heater is on. He loves the cold.
5. We live in Texas. We have an alaskan malamute. She does just fine. But she is allowed to stay inside in the air conditioning too. So if you let them in when it's hot, yeah, they do just fine thanks.
6. By snow dogs, I assume you mean Siberian Husky, the breed in that movie and in Eight Below. I have a Siberian, we got her in Maryland, she LOVES the snow. She would literally hop around in the snow like a bunny rabbit. She would curl up and lay in the snow and wind for hours. She hates summer and heat. It doesn't help that we moved to Florida. She is miserable here. All she does is sleep in the house with the air conditioning on. I will not get another Siberian or any other arctic breed while we are in this hot climate.
7. They can live in hot areas, but not outdoors 24/7. I have a Samoyed, and she is very active except during the extreme heat of Summer (over 95F). When it gets really hot, she lays down and takes a nap in the shade, or on a tile floor til it cools off. If you have A/C in the house, it helps. If not, expect the dog to camp out in front of a fan when it's hot. And they really love to have ice cubes in their water. Whatever you do, DON'T shave these dogs down to cool off. Even when it's hot out, their fur insulates them and prevents sunburn.
