California is going Greyhound will horse racing suffer?

The new greyhound track being built near L.A. the horse people are very unhappy the dogs track handle could be around 2 million a day, taking away from the horses the track will open summer 2008

2. Any alternative form of gaming that involves wagering will hurt. The racetracks gripe about everything though when it comes to threatening their livelihood; indian casinos, lottery, etc. While I love to watch (and bet) the horses, it's been awhile since I've gone to the track. It's easier to just stay home and watch TVG and wager online. The track you bet still gets some money, but you save on gas, admission, food, etc. You can even buy and print the Daily Racing Form from your own computer.
3. I live in a state that has both and it hasnt hurt horse racing handle. The thing that hurts the horses are the casinos abd the purses at the race track. Hope this helps
