  1. i think the grey hound or the sitzu..will work best =D
  2. Well, first you'd better do some more research. It's called a musher, and the best dog for a sled team is the one bred for that purpose - the Siberian Husky. There's a lot to learn about becoming a musher. I'm sure Ulva Child or Loki Wolfchild will tell you the same.
  3. I know someone who can help you... Loki and Kecia.. but Siberians are good sled dogs, no not good, *GREAT* sled dogs. They are an endurance breed and can go on for miles. Here is some info you could read on Starting out, training, first race and on the trail; http://www.siberianhuskyclub.com/working/beginnersguide/ http://www.siberianhuskyclub.com/working/beginnersguide/training http://www.siberianhuskyclub.com/working/beginnersguide/firstrace http://www.siberianhuskyclub.com/working/beginnersguide/onthetrail
  4. Siberians were the best sled dogs for racing upon their arrival in North America 100 years ago (1908). However, as racing has gained popularity, the Alaskan husky was developed for speed and has now become the favorite. If you want to be a competitive musher, these dogs will serve your purpose better. Your best bet is to find a successful musher in your area and visit their kennel, talk to them about their dogs and the sport, and -- basically -- beg them to let you hang out with them. They can show you the proper gear to buy, might let you help them run the teams, etc. There is plenty you can learn from a good mentor. Not sure where you live, but this is an excellent USA website for people interested in running dogs: http://www.sleddogcentral.com/beginners/welcome.htm Good luck!
