  1. I hope you live near Lowell, Massachusetts? It's held in February as part of the Lowell WinterFest. I don't see any age restrictions on the form, but you can only race until you lose twice, so for your $25 per team fee you'd better pick some strong folks. http://www.lowellwinterfest.org/dogsled.html
  2. I've read about a human dog sled race that took place at the "Can't Depend On Snow" sled dog race in Fond Du Lac WI. They lined up dog sleds, put a bag of dog food on each sled (40 lbs.) and had one person pull each sled. I believe they just used nylon rope looped around each persons waist. The race was about 50 yards long. I wasn't actually there, but I talked to participants after the race. I'm sure kids could participate also.
  3. No the harnesses are to large for kids they won't fit properly.
  4. There are human dog sled races of sorts used for education purposes. One school here in Duluth, MN held one in 2007 and others around the country do in conjunction with studying the Iditarod, Beargrease and other races - there is information on putting on one on the Beargrease web site under Education and then "dogless race" - similar information can be found on line with other information about the Iditarod.
