what does grade mean in grayhound dog racing?

1. different grades of dog..... m......maiden.......dogs that have never won..... d......1st level after 1st win.....some tracks have a e-grade c.......2nd level after 2nd win b.......3rd level after 3rd win a.......fastest dogs on the grounds..... =============================================== the track determinds when a dog can drop into a lower ranks..... say a a-grade dog keep running last in it's last 3 races, the track will then drop dog into a b...grade race..... if a dog wins..it must step up to a higher grade..... if you are a.... a grade dog and win...you stay at that level....... good luck and good racing!!!!!
2. M=Maiden(non winners lifetime only) D,E, or whatever is lowest level C B A Must win to get to the next level. After 3 off the board starts or track rule, a dog is dropped down a level until it wins again.
