Does this horse look good enough to barrel race?

Looks don't make a barrel horse, Any horse can go around the barrels,i don't think you'll be real competitive on this horse.
Poncho might be too old to barrel race, it just depends on his health. He looks good. Good luck with him! =]
From what I see he looks pretty nice, but it is only one pic. Its hard to give you an answer without knowing your level of riding. Are youplanning on becoming professional? If so, he is a little old to start training for barrels. If you are planning on doing gymkhana shows, or local barrel races to learn and have some fun, I am sure he would be fine if he is sound. If you are just starting out, he is probably perfect for you if he is sound and has a sound mind. He appears to have a nice build to him, go for it, and good luck, have lots of fun!
You can't ride pretty...remeber that. Never buy on looks, color, etc. Get in the saddle and then you'll know what the horse can do.
