Views on Ruffian?

what are your views on the filly Ruffian? do you think she was the greatest race horse of all time or not? I'm doing a paper on her and just would like some opinions on her, what you thought of her career etc.

1. She was very classy but I think her overall ranking for top 100 racehorses of the past century was #35. There were better racehorses but that would include colts and there are also some very classy fillies such as Lochsong and Lyric Fantasy.
2. Ruffian was a great horse.One of the best.I think that she can inspire, all jockeys, trainers, and racing teams, to reach for the stars, and make their horses the best they can be.She truly made history better, and I think we should all remember her greatly. I do like other race horses though.Such as Barbaro.Barbaro, also made history, a lot better, and he will inspire many people. Seabiscut, is another famous racer, that I admire also. To be honest, I think I will remember Barbaro the best. I will really miss him. Those are my top 3 famous horses, but, my opinion, is that I like Barbaro the best!
3. Ruffian had heart and drive - two of the biggest assets of a race horse. Her career was too short by a long stretch to accurately say whether she would be the greatest race horse of all time. I watched her final race - I sat and bawled as the jockey jumped off and pulled her leg up. I'd seen horses injured before and knew that it was bad. There is a wonderful movie about Ruffian that just came out about a year or so ago - I would recommend watching it as it might give you a bit more feel about the mare. As horse movies go it's pretty realistic - be prepared for the final race scene...it's very graphic but also the most realistic scene I have seen in a movie about horse racing. 4. i think she is the greatest filly racer of all time and that she really did love to race and jsut didn't excel at it because thats how she was trained to i think it was actaullly in her heart
5. I watched her final race too. Grandpa and I had bet an ice cream cone on who would win. I had bet on Ruffian. When the race was over, I was so upset the last thing on my mind was ice cream. Too bad her career was so short, it is a shame things like that happen. I thought she was a fantastic filly. I saved a bunch of articles on her, but I'm sure you can find the same info online.
