Racehorse name who died, think kieran fallon was jockey. Famous name, not Lincoln or Washington?
It was in a big race, i thought it was Abraham Lincoln but is not. Is it Dylan Thoms, im not sure but the horse broke his leg and later died as a result.

- The horse's name is Barbaro. I felt so bad for this horse. They tried to do surgery to help him but it didn't last. Yes, the horse did break his leg and this just happened last year.
- The horse was Horatio Nelson in last year's Epsom Derby. There was some controversy as Fallon did not feel the colt was moving well in his pre-race warm up. http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/international-news/2006/June/03/Sir-Percy-triumphs-in-close-Epsom-Derby.aspx
- The horse you are thinking of was Horatio Nelson. Fallon did not want to run the horse, but the trainer said go... there was quite an uproar over this when the horse broke down before the finish line. Here is a direct quote from Bloodhorse: Questions arose about the condition of the Irish-bred son of Danehill because jockey Kieren Fallon had expressed concern about the colt's warm-up prior to entering the starting stall. Horatio Nelson held up the race for several minutes while he was trotted around under the watchful eye of trainer Aidan O'Brien before being allowed to race. Dr. Peter Webbon, chief executive of the Horseracing Regulatory Authority, told Racing Post that he was confident that Horatio Nelson was fit to run. A grim Fallon, who gave up his final mount of the day and left the track early, said: "He was a bit stiff but he was fine when he trotted off. I don't know at what stage it happened. I just heard his leg snap and it's very upsetting."
