Cross Breeds

Which horse should I choose?

A) an almost 17 hh TB retired race horse. He is a BIG flashy chesnut. 10 yrs old. B) an 18 yr old chesnut Saddlebred / Appendix approx 15 hh.. He doesnt look or act 18 at all..very sweet and flashy too. Easy to ride.May come with a saddle. Im in love with both. BOTH of them suit me and my situation..its just so hard to chose Id he is saddlebred/appendix - is he gaited you think?

  1. Ummm...thats hard because the one is a bit old and the other is a bit tall but if is your first time I would go with the eighteen year old. If you have had experience with horses I would go with the first one! Well good luck....!
  2. I'd have them both checked by your Vet. The retired race horse is more likely to have health issues.
  3. i would choose B 15hh is a good size and you can still get on from the ground, so if you fell or just needed to get off for somthing you don't have to struggle so much to get back on. I love thourobreds, but they can be difficult and from my experience i've noticed they get more joint problems as they get older. They can be hard to keep weight on, and somtimes they arn't really comfy to ride bareback. Good luck!!
