after a race my horses leg swelled up?
i have a horse names teddy bear and she is a gamer she was a rodeo horse ans always got first place well just last year i was at a fair and i was doing barrels and when we were done i noticed that her leg was swollen and she was limping really bad now she is retired but the lump and the swollen nise is still there what does that mean. what shall i do. my mom thinks it is arthrites but i am scared that it is cancer because that is what my dad says. so please answer

- Best thing would be to have a vet take a look, are you sweeting the leg at night? If so dose it change the look or swelling? Have you try pultus raps?. She could have pulled a tendon?
- a lump can be cancer, scar tissue, or cyst. bring it to a vet and have it checked out. it could be nothing but then again its always better to be safe than sorry. i hope your horse is ok.
- first of all hun what leg and where on her leg, if its still swollen its beause the injury wasnt treated correctly when it happend. ITS NOT CANCER, its not arthritis, arthritis occurs within a joint there wouldnt be swollen flesh involved with it. Let me know and i will tell you what to do to fix it if possible.
- It must be swelling from running and not cancer. Your mom may be right and it could be arthritis. Have your horse checked out so you can be safe! good luck! I love horses!
