- well that seems a bit much for a TB mare and chestnut, they are a dime a dozen and the fact that she needs work and needs a confident rider, that diminishes her value quite a lot. it really doesn't matter who her father was. I had a mare by Octagonal and i couldn't get more then 500 for her, and she was about at the level of training that your mare is and very pretty and bay. the fact that she has previously done pony club and jumping is good, but i have a warmblood mare that i bought because she had DONE that and I am now fully aware why she stopped. That said, if you can get her back into work and make her look well muscled and a level head, this will hike her price up to 2000 but right now i wouldn't pay more then 100-1300 I'm in Australia where the majority of horses seem to be chestnut TB mares.
- Its been some years past snce I rode and owned a hunter jumper myself. We showed in different divisions. The horses that qualified for an A show around the USA could go for $25,000. yet an 8 year old mare that was run or not on the track usually got abused with their legs. My mare had to get pin fired and never got over being lame. She had to be put down after a year of nursing her to no avail. Horses are a very hard pet to put a number on. If you paid $1000. and enjoyed her, then maybe the new owner will love her for $1000. too.
- i would say about two thousand! sounds like a nice horse hope i helped
- My rule of thumb when selling anything is- if it's priced right, I'll get a few lookers and sold by 30 days. If it's priced too high, no inquiries at all in 30 days. If it's too low, it sells in a week. :) Horse, car, photo of Elvis, all the same principle. How long have you had her at that price??? There's your answer. Drop it by 25% and get er gone, hopefully.
- sounds very majestic. this horse could probably go for *3000-6000$* Happy Hunting!
- as much as someone will pay
