What is the name of the US fighter jet squadron that names their aircraft after famous racehorses?
Several years ago I read a magazine article about a fighter jet squadron that named it's planes after famous race horses and misplaced it. I have been unable to find any info on it since. Anybody got a clue as to what I'm talking about?

- I think you're referring to the 23rd Fighter Squadron in Alexandria Pineville, Lousisiana. This squadron was named after the racehorse Lecomte. The painter of the misspelled the name of the horse, but it was never corrected, so the squadron remains to be called The Lecomte Squadron. I think the horse's name was spelled LECONTE.
