This famous race horse named Secretariat?

well the documentry movies have been to Seabiscuit to Ruffian......the other day I read in my horse mag. that sometime in 2008 a Secretariat movie was coming out. Have any of you heard this? Would this be a movie you'd want to see?

1. I'd watch it. Especially if it was as good as Seabiscuit (the movie)!!! I have never heard of it though.
2. yes secretariat was a great horse and would make a great feel good movie..any avid racing fan thats 40 over would be able to tell you that secretariat was a monster on the track
3. I believe I've heard of that too - I think I saw a commercial or a plug about it when I was watching the breeders cup. I hope they do a good job :) I'd love to see a movie about my most favorite race horse, John Henry, may he rest in peace. He has a great rags to riches story and what a personality he had!
4. Secretariat is a triple crown winner. I think I would watch it.
5. I haven't heard that but yes I would want to see it!! He was a fantastic racehorse plus he is my horses great grandfather!!

There has been talk all over the TB industry of a Secretariat film for a few years I would have figured however they would have made it for a 2003 release date as that would be the 30th anniversery of his winning the TC, Howevere it seems that film industry liked to do things on 25th and 35th anniverserys. For exampe the FULL footage of Ruffian's final race and the breakdown was never aired in it's entirety until 2000 which was the 25th anniversery of the Match Race. Usually they just faded out at the point of break down. 2008 would be the 35th year since Big Red's TC win. Seeing as how I have both Seabiscuit movies, The Ruffian movie, Phar Lap movie and Black Gold... yeah I'd see it lol. I think i saw soemthing in one of my Bloodhorse magazines a few motnhs ago about this, I'll check it out and get back to you Wow didn't take me long to find it! lol it was in an article where they were talking about Ruffian's movie and how it was based on Bill Nack's novel about her. They are baseing the Secretariat movie off his book about Big Red , man talk about the royalties this guys is gonna get awesome books and then they get made into movies!!! Anyway this article said they are in the process of casting roles and filming should start in 2008, film looks to be released in 2009. I hope they release it the day before the Derby, Preakness or Belmont, that would be AWESOME lol Anyway yeah it's soon to be in production!!! Wonder if we will see Gary Stevens pop up in this one, he couldn;t play Ron Turcotte as Ron was I think 18 or 19 when he won the TC so we'd need someone a bit younger but I'll bet he'll have somethign to do in the movie!
