How much is reasonable for purebred golden retriever puppies? No papers, not registered?
These are my puppies that were just born 2 days ago. We have a male and female golden retriever who mated before we could get one or the other fixed.

- $350.00
- I'd say about $300 and if you get their papers and register them with American Kennel Club then you could get much more. Truth is, some people won't buy the puppies for a high price even if they are pure bred because you don't have the papers to prove it. You'd be surprised how many people claim their dogs are pure bred.
- rescues charge $50. I would not buy a puppy from a "breeder" who does not do something to prove that his dog is worth breeding. If it is not registered, well, do both parents hunt? Have they had the hips of both parents checked?(OFA or Penn_hip) Been checked for for eye problems?(CERF) If these things have not been done, you would be better off getting a puppy from a rescue. LOTS of golden puppies in rescues........www.AKC.org
- if not registered then anywhere from 50 to 100, now if you take the time to regester your dogs before the next litter and show them or run them in a UKC/HRC/AKC hunt test/feil trial and get their titles and have eyes and hips checked out then you can ask a good bit more. my golden has her Hunting RetrieverChampion title and her pups went for 350(females)300(males) now if i had gotten her Grand Hunting Retreiver champion title then her pups would have been worth 500 to 1000 depending on the stud dog i used. your pups are not papered )though i would check with AKC OR UKC to see if you can still register the litter without the parents having bieng registered(UKC IS A LITTLE MORE LENIENT) and are not as valuable to a trainer or hunter, but to average Joe Blow they are just cute balls of fluff and will make great pets. The reason you should charge at all for your pups is that they are purebreed pups. you dont want the dogs to end up in a shelter so take some care in who gets them. If someone looks shady dont sell! some people will buy cheap puppies to sell for a profit to labratorys or are puppy mill breeders just looking for a dog to breed. these pups can still be registered without paperowork on the litter if the person buying goes to UKC and gets the right paperwork from them. UKC will register a dog based upon breed standards (by the person sending in photos of the pup at all angles and vet certification that the pup did come form two of the same breed, with out having to have the pup sterilized.)they can also be registered under another clause that says they have to be sterialized and can compete in events. (this is how i registered our first newfie that we rescued from a local shelter.)hope this has been helpful
