If God made animals to eat, why are we shocked when a crocodile eats a person?
They are just doing what comes naturally, aren't they? Humans eat animals everyday and I don't see the animals revolting despite the torture they are put through. How is this fair when we don't need to eat another living being with so much at our disposal? For meat eaters, ignorance is bliss, right?

- Don't know rabbit. I won't eat you.
- A Crocodile ate my mother and I just sat back and had a Coors Light. Let nature take her course, I say. No use crying over God's sick sick bloody plan.
- my brother told me he learned at school that the human body is not made to eat meat. he said that it takes 2 weeks for steak to digest and it actually rots in your stomach.
- Who cares about humans? If they start eating horses them I will be pissed.
- I love meat! but i do see what ur saying. it is human nature, verse nature. but in the end we win.
- Because he eats a human uncooked. that's disgusting
- If you're going to put this on God I have to say that I don't ever remember anywhere in the Bible it saying anything about animals eating people.
- Because humans think they are the same as God, and therefor should not be eaten.
- Don't you think a ring tail monkey gets shocked when a panther (or something) eats another ringtail monkey? Point is... when it's one of your own it gets to you more. (especially when you think you're the dominant creature)
- Because meat is yummy-which proves that cannibles (and apparently crocs) are on to something-we taste like chicken MMMM chicken... with a side of pork... covered in bacon... with a beef pot pie for desert
- because it's a member of our species. just like a lemur might look when he sees his friend eaten my something, it's a natural chain of evens, when animals base on pure instinct, that have carried them thousands of years. I don't believe ppl should try to change that balance. Survival of the Fittest
- because God took a whole day to make humans, because we are extra-extra special...ha! Just because the animals haven't revolted yet doesn't mean they won't. We should keep them in line. Start with that bunny.
- LOL **embarrassed laugh**....I'm sorry could you say that again I was busy licking the juicy bloody steak bits off my fingers. Wha...HUH?? NO MEAT?? You MONSTER!! HOW UTTERLY DISPICABLE!! Now bring me another steak before I get REALLY mad! MMmmMMMmmmM..... Blood....juice....MEAT!! *happy midgets run about doing acrobatics to the Friend's theme song* **Jesse looks around, sees no one from PETA around and grabs some bloody steaks and starts chowing down**
- Well, for a start we grieve the loss of a loved one, but then again elephants do too, they even return and grieve over the bones once in a while when they lose a baby or loved one. Humans just want to dominate in an unnatural way. I am a vegetarian and when I ate meat I thought it was natural too. Getting rid of the meat gives you a lot more clarity about the whole situation. Imagine the animals revolting, that would be cool however it is not in their nature. They are at man's disposal sadly. I agree we do not need to eat any animal as I am healthy and have been vegetarian for a long time. This is an issue that is going to be hard to resolve with man's way of thinking, I cry when I think how animals are treated.
- humans are arrogant and think they're the only species in the world.
- Have you ever tried rabbit? It's delicious! That was mean. I'm sorry. It's true though...just like chicken farms here, there are rabbit farms in Europe. I see your point, but plants are living too.
- Man is a sentient being, We fear death. We have higher understanding than the other animals. In the big plan, humans will get eaten/killed by animals, but we still feel a sense of loss if one of us dies in a gruesome way. Maybe we imagine ourselves dying in the place of the eaten person.
- I agree, animals are just doing what they have to to survive. Humans have so many options that they don't need to eat animals.
- (for the first part of the question) of course everyone is going to say this, but its because humans have this state of mind where we thing we are the smartest and most important creatures on this earth. we are at the "top of the food chain", we like to think. of course its not true, but its almost necessary to think so because weve developed such emotion and such intricate, complicated lives that it would be unbearable to think that we are just food for other creatures. there are so many posibilities for the human life that we cant bear to think that our life could end so quickly, so simply, so easily. whats sad is that we humans think we are the smartest, most deserving creatures on this planet when really we are just the most evolved. why humans? why do we get religion and other animals just get short term memory, reflexes, and survival instincts. humans eating meat is a very argueable topic. but really, what i think is that if we can survive off of things not containing meat, we should eat vegetables and nuts and roots and all that grand stuff, we should. i love animals. which shows probably that a reason people become vegetarians/vegans is because we have the ability and/or curse to become attached to things, and if youre attached to animals so much then you cant eat them, then thats that. this probably isnt making a whole lot of sense, but im trying. honest. ignorance isnt bliss. its the things you dont know that kill you. hope this helps.
- Crocodiles r carnivores.meat only.humans r omnivores.meat and plants.plus science proves that human r evolving into herbivores.plants only.unless ur a biblr thumper who denies evolution.
- @ Cassie S, that's absolute bollocks. Of course it rots in your stomach. All food rots in your stomach. Bacteria breaks down food in your gut, so yes, it rots, but that's the way our digestive system works. That it rots in your stomach doesn't have any adverse health effects. If he's learning that at school you should complain, because it is simply not true that the Human body is not made to eat meat, its a lie perpetrated by people like PETA. http://www.beyondveg.com/billings-t/comp-anat/comp-anat-1a.shtml http://www.becomehealthynow.com/article/dietbad/293/1/ http://www.mercola.com/2002/feb/2/vegetarian.htm http://www.lloydianaspects.co.uk/opinion/veggie.html @ White Horse, humans already eat horses, and have for hundreds of thousands of years. It is still widely eaten in France. I should know, I bought it there. The sausages were nice, a bit like venison, the steak tasted like petrol. @ Satire Cafe, that's blatantly not true. Of course we know other animals exist. We eat dozens of them for heavens sake. Now, to answer the question! I wouldn't be surprised if a crocodile ate a Human, it's natural for them obviously. That's not to say that that would be a good thing, obviously it wouldn't. Any animal fears predators, do you still think a species would be alive if they wanted to be eaten by them? Humans are tribal creatures, we have empathy and other emotions towards each other. We care, for the most part, about other Humans, thus we would hate for them to be eaten by Crocs in the same way we'd hate to be eaten by Crocs ourselves. It's Human nature to put Mankind first, as it would be for any species to put its own first. We eat animals because we were made to eat animals. We don't let animals eat us because we don't want us or our fellow humans to be eaten. There's nothing confusing about that is there? Makes very logical sense to me. Cows, for instance, don't know they are going to be turned into food. Neither do they pine for freedom. They are tame, domesticated animals, and not that bright. They don't realise what will happen to them and they feel at home where they are, so no, they don't revolt. Maybe if they were sentient they would, but they ain't. I'm not at all ignorant and I eat meat, and I'm perfectly happy doing so, which kind of scuppers your last quip.
- Because so many people(the vast majority unfortunitly) are extremely hipocritical. People can't stand to think, it might make them better people, and we can't have that.....
- I'm not shocked one bit. I usually laugh about it. I honestly don't think God made animals for US to eat. We're suppose to be taking care of our bodies and meat contains a lot of fat, calories, and cholestrol. Fruits and Veggies are good for me, so that's what I eat!
