dog racing?
i was at victory track in alabama not long ago, very new to betting on dogs. anyway one of the races i see one dogs odds is 7/2, another one 9/2, and two others 5/2 what does that mean

- First number is the potential winnings, second is the amount of the bet. So, 7/2 means if you bet $2 and you win, you'll get $7 in winnings (plus your original $2 back).
- in the case of 9/2 odds, for every $2 you spend, you would win a total of $9... spend $4 and get $18 and so on... 7/2 would give you $7 for each $2 dollars spent. when you see just single or double digit numbers, those are /1 instead of /2. at the track, the bigger the number on the right, the more it will cost you to win.
