Does anyone know where I can get cheap golden retriever puppies in Arizona?

I found a place but they are 1100-1200. I think they are a lot for puppies. Do you know where I can buy one cheaper? I found a place but they are $1100-1200. I know that prices are expensive for a reason and 100-200 can be used as like a guarantee to get a good dog. I can't adopt because I want a puppy and there are only dogs.

1. You could try your local Craigs List other then that the paper is your best bet....though personally I would love to see you head on down to your local shelter or humane society and put your name on a list that states what you are looking for and find one that way. Good luck to you in your search.
2. Try a shelter or breed specific rescue. Are you prepared for the other costs? Dogs, on a yearly average, are $1300 in maintenance fees (Food, Toys, Vet, Treats, Etc.). That's if nothing goes wrong that requires extensive vet care. I spend about $2,500 a year on my 2 dogs (One is older, 13. We're at the vet a lot more these days...).

4. if you go to a breeder, anything less than that would be a backyard breeder. dogs that are that expensive are for a reason. if you find a breeder selling them for less, you should run the other was. you should go to your local rescues and shelters. there is bound to a be a great dog there

I'll tell you from experience, it is better to pay more for the dog whose parentage includes dogs that have been cleared of health problems: hips, eyes, elbow, allergies, breed specific diseases, etc. I have 2 rescued Goldens...one has terrible allergies, one has severe hip dysplasia...it's very expensive to deal with these problems, and it's heartbreaking to watch the dogs suffer. I spend more than $1200/year on vet bills for one of these dogs...it's much smarter to buy the dog with the best chance of being healthy. With dogs, as with many other things, you get what you pay for, and lower quality usually means higher costs long term. I'd consider $1200 cheap if it means a healthy dog.

9. I recommend adopting a golden retriever, you'll be saving a life and money too. If you buy from a breeder you'll just be filling his or her pocket and encourage them to breed more, which may end up in shelters later on anyway.
