How much should I charge for Golden Retriever puppies?

I have the male and my wife has the female, so now we have puppies. We are in NC if that makes a difference. They are AKC registered and the parents are very healthy. We're not trying to make a bunch of money as this was just a family project, but we do want to offset the expense. What suggestions does the community have for a fair price?

  1. Look in the local newspapers and see what they sell for in your area. Prices vary in different parts of the country.
  2. 500
  3. if it was me i would pay anywhere between 75 and 100 dollars because they are so beautiful
  4. jsut check the local new paper here they range from 400-600 canadian,
  5. $130 each
  6. ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!
  7. i would say $300-500 but make sure you know where your puppies end up. Tell them to return the puppies to you if they dont want them anymoer so they wont end up in the pound. Be responsible.
  8. 350 if they have shots and are nutered or spayed. 200 if not
  9. i would charge 50 a puppy unless u are trying to make s lot of money then would say ??????
  10. without the parent's having health clearances, ofa, cerf'd, etc. and at least some sort of title that shows the dog is breed worthy, no more than 100. each.
  11. Check with the AKC.
  12. Go to this site, put in the breed and you will get a good idea what others are selling this breed of puppies for. http://puppyfind.com Good luck & I hope you find the perfect homes for all of them.
  13. I would check the local papers to get a general idea. I think that it would also depend on how many puppies there are. You should get them their first shots, de-warmed and possible have their dew claws removed. Not to mention all the food and a check up for Mom. Figure out about what amount you are going to have to put out and charge enough to recoup your costs. Good luck!
  14. i know some may be cheap but if u want to sell and people buy..100$$...u will get quicker money before they turn 13 weeks, know what im sayin
  15. If it is a purebreed you should charge it for about six hundred. The price may very, it also depends on how healthy, or trained the dog is too. If the dog is a mix you should probably charge it for four to five hundred. It just depends on what and how the dog is.
  16. Unless the sire & dam have completed their AKC Championships in the conformation ring, thereby proving their quality as breeding stock and then had their eyes, hips and patellas OFA CERF certified, and undergone health clearances for Hypothyroidism, Progressive retinal atrophy and von Willebrand's disease, your puppies are pretty much worthless. Breeding as a "family project" is called Backyard Breeding. Please have your dogs spayed & neutered.
  17. $400 each
  18. I bought a purebred golden retriever about a month ago (no papers) and paid $400. I looked around for a few months before and found they were usually $300 and up with first shots and dewormed. Registered puppies were typically $500 and up. Often when we called the puppies were almost all spoken for or were all gone at these prices. Hope this helps ... good owners will be willing to pay for a good dog!
  19. So your family lives in a trailerpark in NC and are backyard breeders of Golden Retrievers for a "family project". Well good luck with that plan. Unless the dogs have health clearances and some AKC titles, I would be more concerned with finding them good homes where they wouldn't end up milling pups or another backyard breeder that decides to make money.
