- Usually, you are asked to make a donation to the animal shelter when you rescue a puppy. Visit your local shelter and ask some questions. When I rescued my Lab mix (may she rest in peace, my girl) I made a donation and then continued to make yearly donations to this day. There are WONDERFUL people working for a WONDERFUL cause at that shelter, and the animals are so loved and taken care of. I'd give more if I could.
- ours was $250 with all the business.
- it depends on what shelter you go to but prolly around $150. you may have problems finding a puppy to begin with you may want to look in the newpaper for people selling them. it may cost you alittle more.
- Here are Golden Retriever puppies and some mixes that are sitting in shelters right now. Add your state's initials or city's zip code to the search to see which ones are in or near your area. Adoption fees are not expensive, they vary from shelter to shelter so there is no concrete estimate. http://www.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?pet.Animal=Dog&pet.Breed=Golden+Retriever&pet.Age=baby&pet.Size=&pet.Sex=&location=wa
- Well, that depends on WHAT animal shelter you're using. My local animal shelter has a flat rate of $70 for every animal, except rabits and hapsters, they're $20. One town over, they charge by breed, age, and special needs. The younger, more pure, and the less medical problem, the more the dog will cost there.
- the price varies by Area of the country, as well as how the shelter is funded. I know the city Shelters of goverment funded shelters are usually the cheapest places to adopt from. At the same time the reason they are cheaper is becasue they keep the animals for less time before they kill them, so they have less ongoing overhead. The local shelters run by outside organizations or by Human society cost more but they take care of the animals better and they keep them longer if they can. This makes many people tend to go there to get there animals because if you get your dog there you are helping to keep all those animals alive longer...... AT the same time IF you get your dog or cat from a government shelter you are saving a dog they may be put to death in a week or less.... and on average in my area central states the prices will run a full range of as low as 20.00 dollars in small town gov shelters to 150.00 dollars at Humane Society...... One thing you might look into if price is a huge factor if you have a vetranary college near you call them up and ask if they have any free adoptions... often times the vet colleges will rescue animals and then adopt them out free as the vet. trainees will have practiced on them cleaning them as well as spaying etc... IE also a cheap place to get pet care later.... seems risky but there is always a teacher there a certified vet.
- It would vary. Depends on what your city charges to adopt. Mine charges $20. It may be more in cities where they have a vet come in and check the dogs, give them shots, fix them, etc.
- At our shelters dogs are vaccinated, dewormed and spayed/neutered and cost around $200.00..good luck in your search!!
