Are maltese puppies good for children with allergies?

2. It depends on what kind of allergies they have. Are they allergic to dogs? Try taking them around dogs to see if there allergies kick in. Otherwise, Maltese puppies are great dogs and they are good with kids. Be prepared to get them groomed once a month.
3. yes they are supposed to be hypo-allergenic, but no dog is absolutely allergen-free, it depends on your child, and how severe the allergy, maybe take the kid to a pet store and let them hold a maltese for a bit, the pet store will generally let you do this, leave and wait a while to see if there is any reaction. This is a good way to figure out how bad the allergy is.

The Maltese breed is good with kids, but they can get nippy. They will run and play all day but they get excited and nip at you. You have to be careful of a child dropping them too. They are so small they can break a bone if dropped. They have great personalities and love every human and every animal they see!!
