  2. I'd say a well-bred Maltese would cost about $1,000 from a responsible breeder. If you're looking for one at a lower price, try a shelter or rescue. http://www.petfinder.com is a great place to start. You can also google "maltese rescue" and find wonderful Malteses looking for a good home.
  3. No, you get what you pay for. A quality maltese puppy can cost anywhere from between $600-$3000. You want a healthy, quality puppy from healthy, quality, parents, right? Then you have to pay for what it's worth. Cheaper puppies are cheaper for a reason. They may not be registered, they may not be healthy etc. If you don't want to pay the price for a purebred dog with papers, go to petfinder and find a maltese mix or a maltese rescue. They'll be cheaper. Here: http://www.petfinder.com/ Good luck!
  4. Try these places. :0) http://www.1-800-save-a-pet.com/cgi-bin/public/petsearch.cgi/search_dogs_form http://www.petharbor.com/ http://dogsindanger.com/ http://www.petfinder.com/ http://www.craigslist.org/about/cities.html Adoption fees are not expensive
