Where can i find English bulldog puppies for cheap in California, preferably the south bay area?

i want to give my friend one and all the ones I've looked up have been in states other than California and way out of my price range. Anything under 1000 would be great.

5. You won't find one. The backyard breeders and puppymillers sell them for $2000 or more.
