  1. Bite him back. It works.
  2. it has to do with rubbing raw meat
  3. I can stop it in 1 second
  4. It's the nature of the animal. Get the help of a proffessional dog trainer.
  5. biting back is the correct answer. on the ear.
  6. Firmly tell him "no, no!" in a growling voice. Enroll him and yourself in obedience classes. Spray bitter apple in his mouth when he does it if necessary.
  7. make sure he gets tons of exercise to burn off all that energy. give him chew toys. when he bites, even playing, push him away, put him outside (or alone in another room) and say no firmly. it will take time and lots of patience on your part; he's just a baby still.
  8. this is serious so dont think im trying to be funny, but scream very loudly everytime he starts to bite you. seriously it works. and by scream i mean pretend like it hurts.
  9. knock his teeth out next time he bites. that will teach the little booger.
  10. Everytime he bites you you need to screetch really loud like it hurt really really bad even if it didnt. Turn your back on him and wait for him to calm down. This shows him that him biting is really wrong because it shows that he has hurt you.
  11. the only way is to YELL and ignore, pleeease listen to me, i own around 14 dogs on my farm. it works! yell, tap their nose and then ignore them! GROWL even!
  12. Get a a water bottle and fill it with water. Everytime he goes to bite. Get him in the face with it.. That is what a dog trainer did with my dog. Good luck...god bless...
  13. correct him by making a loud noise. shake a can full of some pennies. Read or watch Cesar Milan the "Dog Whisperer" You can learn alot from watching his programs it's on National Geographic channel.
  14. let it eat people
  15. Pitbulls are generally vicious by nature, so it wont be easy. Although it may be a little harsh, this is what you could try: Whenever he does something that you don't like, do something that he doesn't like. For example, whenever he bites or acts badly towards someone, give him less food, or dont give him a treat for awhile, so give him a little less attention, and when he goes for awhile without acting bad, give him treats and more food. It works; best way to train anything.
  16. i had that problem before what you need to do is get a short leash and when the it bites you yell at it and tie it up. when it's tied up pay not attention to don't let it play with none of it toys and let it sit there for about 15 to 3o minutes. if that don't works you can always whip it or take it to a pro
  17. bop him on the nose and say NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Would take him to trainer. Pit bulls scare me.
  19. Place him on his back and hold him there for a few seconds. My friend has a pit puppy that did the same thing and he did that consecutively. The dog now, 10 mths old, is very well behaved and passsive. remember YOU are the leader and he is the follower. Exercise, discipline and affection in that order
  20. You need to give all puppies something to chew on. Get pig ears..and rawhide bones for him. Also, a pull toy where he bites one end u pull the other. Puppies get bored..and he was used to playing with litter mates like that...doesn't mean he wants to hurt you...just wants to play. Also, you must take control...look him in the eyes until he turns away...then he know you're the Alpha...the boss!!!!
  21. Show him that you're the boss. Lay him on the ground on his back and hold him down and look him in the eyes. Pinch him by the scruff of his neck. When he stops struggling after you have him pinned, he can get up.
  22. Dog whisperer. I see this guy on tv, maybe u can Google him to find a contact or find another person in his field..
  23. When he bites you, you can: -Yelp and turn away from him, or walk into another room (And by "Yelp" I mean say "OUCH!" loudly) -Use a squirt bottle, while saying "No" at the same time, or "Eh eh!" -Use a can of pennies -Redirect the biting with a toy Remember that puppies bite - A LOT, it has nothing to do with breed at this point. Do NOT hit him, scream at him, or put him in his crate as punishment. That's not how it works, and doesn't teach him what he's doing wrong or what he SHOULD be doing.
  24. this will be hard, first question is this 1. do have any kids in the house? if so yes you need to put a stop to this like now! Petsmart has a puppy class ( dog school ) also google for info on puppy training.. Is it the dog bitting or is it nipping and has their been any blood after he's bitin you or anybody eles? Also do this to - look up info on Pit Bulls.. Here in minn. a family had 3 pit pulls and a pit bull ended up killing a three old child..
  25. Please don't bite your dog, shake it, etc -- I did that with mine, and now he has aggression issues. Also, please don't squirt bitter apple in its mouth, that's cruel -- just try it sometime! Bitter apple is to spray on objects you don't want being bitten. That being said, you could try shaking pennies in a can (the sound will startle the dog and it'll be distracted, you can choose that moment to say "No bite!" and reward for stopping), spray bitter apple on your hands/clothes whatever he's biting, squirt him with a squirt gun full of water (you may have to add a tiny bit of vinegar if he likes it, if your dog is a weirdo like mine he'll like the vinegar too and this won't work), and you could say "Eh eh!" or "No bite!" If he knows any commands yet, like sit, you could try giving him a command. If he's busy sitting, then he isn't biting. Good luck! Remember, the biting is all a phase -- my beagle was a VERY nippy puppy, and isn't bad at all now. It gets better after the first five months or so. Hang in there!
  26. All pitbulls have a chemical imbalance in their brain and are naturally violent. But hes a puppy :\ All puppys bite. >.> My mini pincher is chewing on my sleeve right now =x
  27. Saying "aouch" and removing your attention is my prefered method. Your response will tell the puppy it was closing it's jaws too hard and now you don't want to play anymore. Have a rope toy or stuffed toy handy to give it instead. Chewing is a natural part of puppy development, and as they can't Google, they have to chomp down on things to learn about them. Naturally, they aren't born with well developed fine motor skills, so they have to be developed through play and practise. I strongly warn against using any harsh methods. They are not "natural" to a dog (not that we can ever succesfully act like dogs) and make them confused and afraid more than anything else. Do not turn the dog over or do an Alpha Roll or stare it in the eyes or any of those confrontational mathods. What it will teach the dog is Aggression. If you act aggressively to a playful, even if painful, bite, what does that teach the dog about using aggression/turning aggressive when upset? There is a reason Cesar Milan has to put disclaimers on his show! Dogs treated that way often turn around and bite someone else later (getting rid of all that stress), possibly a child that is easier to face, or get so nevous that they no longer can function normally. What is often called "calm submissive" in the show is actually "frozen in fear". I much prefer to develop a good relationship with the dogs I work with, and have them trust and respect me, and IT WORKS to make them better mannered. But mostly it is a personal choice. I don't care for submission, I prefer to try to be a good leader that the dogs want to follow. You chose to get a smart and loving breed. I hope your goal is to become an equally smart and loving owner. Asking questions is a good first step. Good authers to start with are Ian Dunbar and Jean Donaldson. Ian Dunbar invented the whole Puppy Kindergarten concept, and I recommend you find one to attend in your area. It is fun, instructive, and gives your puppy a place to engage in all those puppy behaviors we are too fragile to put up with. Enjoy!
