What are some good game for my pit bull puppy?

i just got a 9week old pit bull puppy, he seems a little aggressive, and i would like to know what kind of games should i play with him that would not make him aggressive. im kind of worry of playing the wrong game or teaching him something wrong that later would make him more aggressive. He loves to jump and bite on things that are hanging from anywhere even if its hanging from your shirt. i have 2 small kids and i wouldnt want the dog to be aggressive for the same reason.

  1. You must train and socialize your puppy at an early age. Puppy aggression doesn't just mean puppy biting; it means barking and lunging at people as well. While the behavior may seem cute on the outside, if not properly treated at an early age, it can develop into serious dog aggression and will be much more difficult to fix at an older age. Firstly, you should know the reason why puppy becomes aggressive. There are number of reasons for puppy aggression, including: Being alone for long periods of time. Boredom and anxiety can often lead to aggression that comes out of frustration. Being bullied by other dogs or people. Ensure your children and friends are not picking on your puppy. It may just lash out in response. Physical pain or discomfort. If your puppy is suffering from discomfort, whether from a fresh cut or a genetic disease, it may just respond to this with aggressive behavior. Genetic Diseases. Some dogs, like Cocker Spaniels, suffer from a rare disease known as "rage syndrome," which causes them to lash out spontaneously. Do some research on your particular dog breed or mix to ensure they aren't susceptible to violent compulsions. Whatever the reason, it takes a lot more than simple dog obedience training to handle a dog's aggressive problems. It would be wise to consider some serious puppy training. [Read more at Link 1] I've never known any games that cause a dog to be too aggressive unless the person is playing with the dog is being violent. Tug of war, fetch, hide & seek, chew toys are all good games for puppies as long as you're not provoking him. Once he's older you can tie a tire to a swing *not for your children's use* so your dog can jump on it and bite it if he wants.
  2. Some good games involve hunting. He will love to hunt for his food. Show him a treat (one that smells strongly, that he enjoys) and then hide it somewhere. Let him find it. This game is good because it involves their hunt senses. Another good game is tug, but NEVER let him win! Letting him win shows him that he is dominant.Teach him to drop the toy when you are done playing. At first you may need to make a loud yelp when you are done. He will drop the toy, then you just say "Drop it" and he will get the idea. Another good game to play is hide and go seek. Have someone hold the puppy, as you walk into another room. Hide somewhere easy... like in the middle of the room, and then call him as the other person releases him. Keep doing this until he can find you in a tricky spot like in a closet. Once you start teaching him stay, you can play the same game, but use the "stay" command in place of someone holding him. Then release the command and call him to find you. Good luck! Make sure you invovle the kids. Also, to avoid aggressive eating, be sure hand feed him. Then, when he is eating out of a bowl... take the bowl away, and add something tasty before you put the bowl back as a reward for taking the food away. Also, make sure you rough house (just push him a bit, no hitting or anything) him when he is eating/drinking, and make sure he doesn't fight back or get urges to bite. Teach him to have patience. Always be careful as not to get hurt. Starting young is best so he doesn't develop agression later on. When you pull his tail and such, and show no fear he learns to be patient and no one means harm. This comes in handy when kids will be testing the dog's limits later on.
  3. Maybe you should get a personal trainer for your dog, to stop his behavior before it gets any worse and he gets used to being agressive. Uless you feel comfortable, you have to show your dog that YOU are the boss, and he is not. Best of Luck!
  4. Here are some games -kill the baby -snag the wiener -torture the neighbor -Bite the nipple -Eat the trash -Terrorize the city These are all good games that lower agression, trust me.
