How can I tell if my dogs puppies are mixed with pit bull or husky?

My dog had puppies on the 24th of June, and around the time that she got pregnant, we had a pit bull over here for a few days and we also had a husky over here, which we are now keeping, but I was just wondering if there was any way to tell if they were husky mixed or pit bull mixed? Here is where u can see some pics of the puppies http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.editAlbumPhotos&albumID=74350&MyToken=32b6f475-a058-45a6-98dd-878053f166ce , and the mom is eskimo /spitz and there is also a pic of her on there with my mom its on the second page

  1. Post a picture of the puppies and we might be able to tell. The two breeds look pretty different. What breed is the mother?
  2. Well just look at the puppies if they look like huskys there husky mixed, and if they look like pitbull there pitbul mix.
  3. You'll probably be able to tell once they're older and more developed. They are 2 distinctly different looking breeds and have different physical characteristics. If they're stocky and have a wide jaw, you're probably looking at a pitbull mix, whereas a husky mix might have blue eyes, be taller and have longer hair and tall pointy ears.
  4. that should be apparent by the traits the pups have. blue eye? Husky. Furry tails? Husky... Facial structure should be the strongest indication of which dog was the sire, but there is body configuration, and many behavioral factors to weigh in in coming to the proper conclusion in this case.
  5. do you have any pics of the pups? and what kind of dog do you have? it is unknown unless we can see them.
  6. Pitbull- it will have a square face, and more of a muscular build, they also may be more energetic, usually dark grey, brown, or blonde huskies- they will be more furry and shed more, their colors are more of light grey and white, also they have blue eyes
  7. everything is a guess... since you only have two prospective daddy's people might be able to guess from looking at photos you've posted on the internet, like at photobucket. If you want an exact answer, they DO have DNA testing available and it tells you for sure what the breed heritage is of the dog.
  8. The pups won't have blue eyes, unless the Husky is the father *and* the mother's breed carries/has the blue eye gene. It's a recessive trait (except in merles), so it only shows when a pup gets the gene from each parent. So, lack of blue eyes doesn't mean the father isn't the Husky. (It's *all* genetics....dominant genes will show, but recessive genes won't unless both parents have them. You don't just get traits of both, doesn't work that way.) There is also a dna test available, but the last time I heard, they won't test for pit bull ancestry. I think it's due to the issues surrounding the breed, but I'm not certain. http://www.metamorphixinc.com/products2a.html Please have them spayed and neutered as soon as possible, to prevent unwanted/unnecessary litters and also for their health.
