Should I feed my pit bull puppies raw or cooked chicken?
They are eating solid gold wolf pup with K9 puppy gold and taking nuvet vitamins.

- cooked.
- RAW. Cooked chicken is not good for them at all, especially if there are bones in it. Cooked bones will spinter and can cause serious health problems. Raw meat, only. Their digestive tract is much different than humans and can handle the bacteria. :)
- COOKED!
- Raw meat wont hurt it, just make sure that are no bones. Dogs have evolved so they can eat raw meat without a problem. Dogs have been doing it for thousands and thousands of years.
- well i dont think raw would be good for him or her so i'd say cooked!
- not cooked for sure
- cooked chicken only.. not only will this benefit them and prevent bacteria,, they won't do what's called" get the taste of raw flesh", and not be so prone to bite humans.
- Raw. Dogs have the digestive tract to digest raw meat. People can't grasp the fact that dogs are not humans and they have completely different dietary needs. Feel free to feed chicken on the bone if the bone is raw. Cooked bones a prone to splinters. hiba: you are so ignorant to believe that stupid myth Be sure chicken isn't the only nutrient your feeding. Supplement it with multivitamin, kibble,or raw organ meat.
- How about regular dog food there Mr. Mike Vick?
- neither. join peta
- He can't be Mike Vick...he's wondering about chicken, not other dogs! =) Why are you even worried about feeding them chicken? If you buy a high quality dog food, they get everything they need from it.
- Hey there. Please do not mix raw food with kibble. You need to do one or the other, NOT both - that mixture is much too difficult to digest. Kibble digests much more slowly than raw - that's too much for any dog to handle. Never, ever feed any dog cooked bones, no matter what. Cooked bones perforate their organs and kill them. If you need info about raw feeding for puppies, ask on BARFLite or another raw feeding group that's got people with experience....good luck!
- i have 3 pitbulls and im going to have a fourth this weekend we put our chicken in hot water and boil it for about 2 hours.we let it cool off then we take all of the meat off and put it in the pitbulls bowls then we pour a liitle bit of the hot water in it.they really like it but raw chicken isnt as good for them.I also found that they like cooked a lot better.
- I personally dont feed my dogs anything but dog food. After a hard hunt I may give them meat for protein to aide in the healing process. When I do feed them meat I throw it in boiling water for just about 20-30 seconds. Im not sure exactly why I do this but I do know that they can handle it. I myself eat very rare steak, about 45 seconds on the grill and I eat it so I imagine if I can handle that a dog can handle it. Raw meat wont hurt them but i do like to cook just the outer edge which I touched and exposed to nature.
- like people have said, raw. and like the person a couple comments above me said - Please don't mix kibble and raw. Either one or the other, or both 6 hours apart (raw in the morning, kibble at night). They digest at different rates (raw is so easily digested) and can give your dog problems digested a mixture.
- Raw meat only and with the bones included. That is what dogs are designed to eat. Cooking meat changes the protein and make it harder to digest. Millions of dogs eat nothing but raw meat, meaty bones and offal. Mine has been fed this way since she was 9 weeks old.
- Before I answer, I would want to know a little more about your pups...how old are they? Are you feeding chicken separate from the kibble? You are feeding a good kibble, so why the supplements? The kibble you have chosen is a very good food, so I suggest staying with that. If you are going to add chicken, make sure that you feed that at a separate meal...kibble digests at a different rate than real meat. NEVER, EVER feed any dog cooked chicken bones, but if you feel better about cooking up some chicken breast, that is fine....raw is better, but it won't hurt them to have cooked chicken...they just don't get as much out of it. All of my dogs are raised on raw, and my oldest is 10 and my youngest is 4 months. My babies start out with chicken necks and beef or pork heart. After 5 years of raw feeding I would never go back to kibble. Its a lot of work to feed 15 dogs raw, but it is so worth it!
- Raw cooked bones splinter feed raw beef, raw chicken, tripe but be careful not too much protein till about 1 or he wont grow properly muscle bound pup aint good let em get their bone structure and then fill em out keep em light till about a year. Its a myth about raw food making dogs viscious and all that just sounds silly 2 me feeding raw for years healthy energetic dogs tripe with vegetables and then add meat and that maybe onnce twice a week
