Cross Breeds

Does anyone know what kind of competition it is when people ride horses and have them dance?

i seen a cool video where a girl was riding a horse with no saddle on, and the horse was doing different things. what is that called, and how do they get the horse to do that? i thought that was the coolest video i've seen in a while.

  1. It's all dressage stuff I think.
  2. A cruel competition
  3. animal cruelty
  4. horses usually dont dance
  5. duke is right, dressage.
  6. It's called dancing with the horses. That's where they came up with the idea, dancing with the stars.
  7. there is a show called Cavalia. All I know is that they call them equine performers. Look up Cavalia on google!
  8. dressage possibly, which is not animal cruelty
  9. dressage... and the horse doesn't actually dance, it's more like moving the horse to specific places, etc... it's pretty hard
  10. As the person before me said, it was probably Cavalia. Not a competition, but a performance. I doubt it was dressage, as dressage usually involves lots and lots of gear, and I've never heard of dressage sans saddles. But if you like things along the lines of Cavalia, you might also like Nevzorov Haute Ecole. http://www.hauteecole.ru/ =)
  11. Horse ballet or Dancing Horses. It is not abuse! Most of the movements are dressage based, although some are reining based. Generally, it is a presentation, not a competition. I go to every horse ballet that comes to town, and I have tickets to see the famous Lippizaner horses this May. Man can they move! What specific things did you want to know about?
  12. DRESSAGE- the art of horse dancing, there are several different types of horse moves and photos on a site listed below. Also, being from Houston, TX.we have the Houston live stock show /RODEO they have cash purses for such an event.
