I am looking for books about horses to read to my 4 year old son.?

He likes the bryer books, but all the ones i have found are about girls and thier horses.

This story was made into a movie which does stick closely to the book. Enid Bagnold National Velvet - This was made into a movie a long time ago. A very young Liz Taylor starred as Velvet. An equally young Mickey Rooney played the man who helped Velvet train her horse for the National Steeplechase. In that type of race, horse and rider must jump fences, walls, and streams. Marguerite Henry Misty of Chincoteague - This is a true story and was made into a movie, but I have not been able to track down a source as yet.
