13. I have been riding since I was two, so no, I don't think I had sexuall inclinations then, like most of you guys think. I'm sure most people would agree w/ that. It's just a gift that your lucky enough to be born with. Horses are very loving creatures, the essence of power& beauty, yet sensitive & loving. You can feel one w/ these magnifisent creatures. I personally ride because I love the freedom and happiness I have with horses. They are big and strong enough to crush us without blinking, yet they are trainable, loveable, and honest. 33. Girls aren't the only ones who ride, folks- there are a lot of MEN who do this too !!! Most of our top trainers in some of the major horse sports, like racing and rodeo, are STILL MEN. It's just in certain parts of the industry where women dominate the sports. I actually think ( and I suspect that I am not alone in this) that this is a situation that really needs to change. The gender balance is WAY WAY OFF in some of the horse sports, like show jumping, for example. For every 8 or 9 women, there is only 1 man. That's not how it should be. As for riding being like sex, I will say that yes, it is like that for some of us- but for most, we usually ride because we love the freedom and joy that the experience gives us. There is nothing like riding across country on a horse you love and have possibly raised from birth. I can't compare the thrill of winning in competition to sex- because riding isn't a sexual experience. Some of the other answers are just plain obnoxious and border on the obscene. Riding is about sport and being around a wonderful animal, not a cheap thrill in the sack.
