Is it common for horses owned by girls to not like guys?
Horses owned by girls don't like guys? My horse is a quarter/paint horse. Owned by girl for 15 years. Doesn't really like guys.

- No I think it's just some don't like girls or guys no matter who owned it. My sister had a horse who preferred men, when a girl rode him he bucked when you tried to do anything faster than a trot....maybe some horses have had bad experiences with a male or female owner and that too could make them more likely to lean towards the opposite gender.
- Being a real cowboy (see name, I'm Butch Cassidy!), I've never seen that.
- I think It's true from personal experience, but only with geldings. Horses that never acted up with me acted a fool and thew the guys. But it could of had something to do with lack of experience of the guys too!
- Sometimes it is. Horses are very sensitive to the people that surround them, and many times, horses that have had bad (or no) experience around men are more comfortable around women. I owned a horse that hated men. Bucked every single man ever on him off - even my grand prix level instructor. He bucked me off too, but it was his dirty sense of humor. With men, he seemed to set out to hurt them. Sometimes, if a horse is more used to being handled by a certain gender or certain ethnicity, I've noticed, that they act better with that type of person than another.
