- Make sure to do some research. I considered getting a seahorse or 2... I heard they can be quite difficult to maintain. They need lots of live plants and live food to survive. I have also heard that they do better if you have more than one...
- no there a salt water fish
- If you want to kill them. They are saltwater animals. And if you did put them into a marine tank it would have to be well established. They require a lot of plant life to hang onto and feed. Mars is wrong. If you say you have a tropicall tank in my store we assume you have fresh. If you say you have a tropical marine tank then we know what you have. Lets not get all caught up in semantics Mars
- yeah but it wont last very long cuz it have to be salt water they cant survive topical.
- "Tropical" refers to the temperature of the water that a fish hails from, not its salt content, so if by tropical you are referring to water temperature, then yes, many Seahorses can live in tropical waters. Seahorses, however, are sensitive marine creatures that require special care, and a dedicated saltwater setup. They are not a freshwater species. Edit: Capt., what's wrong with denoting the term "tropical" as it relates to aquariums and seahorses? It's important to note that there are both tropical and subtropical species of seahorses. http://www.seahorse.org/cgi-bin/faq/smartfaq.cgi?answer=1057341847 There are also tropical and subtropical fish and other organisms that inhabit both freshwater and saltwater. All freshwater fish are not tropical. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I fail to see your point.
