I have in the tank a 2 pairs of sea horses, 2 3/4 inch anthias and 1 canary blenny. I make sure the sea hoses ar not out competed for food but if the Sea Horses have babies will the other fish and other sea horses (not the parents) eat the babbies? And what should ifeed the babbies? When can they eat brime shrimp and mysics shrimp like the others?

  1. since you said please ill answer but i dont know a damn thing about seahorses. I suggest google
  2. Well, I'm not a sea horse, but I'm going to answer anyway. Yes, the baby sea horses are likely to be eaten if they are not segregated from the fish.
  3. well firstly, yes baby seahorses are teeny and will be eaten by the fish and possibly even the other seahorses as seahorses are ambush predators...they will wait til a baby floats past and swallow before they know what it was...best to separate the babies from even their parents...place the seahorse fry (babies) in a separate tank...so if you suspect the female has laid the eggs in the male's pouch, place the male in a different tank until the fry hatch out...this way the fish will not eat them secondly, Baby brine shrimp is often used to feed seahorse fry. they are nutritious enough to be a staple diet until the fry are bigger, as the baby brine shrimp when they are hatchlings still have nutritious yolk inside them...so try to get ahold of these. Young seahorses eat over three thousand brine shrimp a day. otherwise just ask around pet stores what they feed their seahorse fry. good luck
  4. Babies will get eaten, just switch them to another smaller tank. Flakes Dont think so.
