  1. This is one of those questions that just does not have a specific answer. Costs vary from place to place, so there is no way for someone to say "To build a shed and to fence in an area big enough for your miniture horse(s) would cost $X. Even laws vary from place to place, so you need to check with your local zoning board to see what the laws are regarding animals per acre for the keeping of livestock. In some places, you need at least 1/2 acre per animal; in other areas, you need as much as 5 acres for the first animal, and from 1/2 to 2 acres per animal after that. Also, just because you have acreage, do not assume that you are zoned for livestock. Again, you need to check this with your local zoning board. If you are zoned properly, and have sufficient land, remember that miniture horses and ponies are escape artists - you need special fencing with a strong tensile but a small enough weave that the animal can not get out, or get its head or hoof stuck in the fence. Here is a good website on the care of miniature horses: http://www.blackdraft.com/minihorsecare.htm
