How do i tame a extremely fearful miniature horse?

This miniature horse that i work with is extremely shy. We believe that she was a broodmare all her life and lived out on pasture without much contact with people. How do i tame her and get her comfortable with me?

1. Same way you do a big horse! :) I would take a chair and sit in her stall, read to her. Put a bucket of grain by your feet or carrots or something. When she is comfy there, move to your lap. It takes time and patience, but will eventually come around. You can also try joining up techniques. It all depends on how "shy" she is. I have done this with PMUs, auction horses, broodmares, and horses that grew up in pasture with no handling. Taking time is what it takes. Patience is a virtue.
